Tugboat, Gulfport, Mississippi

The sender of this card tells me that this little tugboat was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. It was a reminder of a previous hurricane--Camille, which hit the area in 1969.

Actually, she was loss to the economy after Katrina...Owner couldn't keep her up without the tourist trade that was lost after Katrina blew through...She was driven ashore some decades earlier by another hurricane and converted into a gift shop.

Thanks for giving us the "real deal," Steve. It's sad that she's no longer viable post-Katrina. What a fascinating piece of history ... I'm glad to own this small part of her!
